Trekking and Camping

 Huemul Circuit

" Without a doubt, the best option for mountain hikers. The trek lasts 4 days and 3 nights, camping in wild and remote areas of the National Park.

Itinerary:

Day 1:

We leave the town of El Chalten in the morning and begin the trail that begins at the northern section of the National Parks. We check all the necessary equipment and supplies for the activity. We ascend toward the Pampa de las Carretas, where the road divides from the one that leads to Pliegue Tumbado. From there, we begin an ascending route toward the viewpoint of the Tunel River Valley, from where we descend to the first campsite at Laguna Toro.

Day 2:

We wake up early after breakfast, heading toward the mouth of Laguna Toro to go around it and cross the Tunel River. Here we have the first zip line, where the guide will assist us and cross, to begin the climb toward the Lower Tunel Glacier.

After crossing the imposing ice of the glacier, we will begin the ascent to Paso del Viento Upon reaching the pass, we will have views of the Southern Patagonian Ice Field, the third largest ice mass in the world. Its glacial tongues will captivate us, and we will be able to take those precious photos.

We will continue descending to the Paso del Viento refuge, where we will spend our second night camping

Day 3:

The third day will surprise us with its vast solitude and beauty. We will see much of the Ice Field and its turquoise lagoons. The eastern face of the great Cerro Huemul massif will guide us to its high pass, where a forest of stunted lenga trees will shelter us as we grab our lunch before descending to the Bahía de los Étangos (Bahía de los Étangos), our third camp. (We will visit the Mirador de las Condoreras (Condors' Nest) and its views of the Viedma Glacier.)

Day 4:

The last day begins with observations of the enormous icebergs that break off from the Viedma Glacier and settle in the bay that gives it its name.

Our trail follows the shore of Lake Viedma, crossing streams and wetlands. We reach the second zip line over the Túnel River delta. Upon crossing this, we are an hour away from Túnel Bay, where transportation is waiting to take us back to El Chaltén
